Still here, just some rain and wind so far, they say the eye is still about 147 miles south of us and not on land yet. We are suppose to get 4-8 inches of rain, we need it but hope not all at once if you know Texas we are flat as a pancake and it will flood us. Winds are suppose to pick up. If you have tv on they are running it from the beach we are by on The Today Show and Good Morning America.

It is overcast here (coastal south Louisiana), but other than showers, that will be it! As long as the hurricane is a cat 3 or lower, I dont get concerned. A couple months ago, in getting ready for the hurricane season, I cleaned out my closet, and reorganized things into plastic storage boxes and I marked some of them "Take for hurricane". I also made a list of additional things to take (like pics off the wall, dd dance recital dvds, baby videos) put that in an envelope and taped it to one of the boxes, so I wouldnt have to make that mad dash (I have done it too many times!!lol!) around the house making sure I got all my important photos/memory things! I sont mind losing my house, clothes and whatnot, but I would be devistated to loose pictures and things like that!

Yeah it is a creepy feeling. When we have to evacuate it is the worst feeling. At least yall did not have to leave. Please stay safe and let us know when that hussy Dolly is gone!!

Even though Dolly is a Cat 2. there is a huge risk of flooding. The reports are saying that levees cannot hold the amount of rain South TX may get. I think that is of the most concern right now.

    Stay safe Kris!!!

It is a shame that they start worrying about the levees now!! We have levees here and they are not kept up as they should. If our area would take a dirrect hit from one with a big enough storm surge we are gonna be in trouble!!

Girrrllll~ya beat me to it! LOL!!! They use up all the money alloted for the levees to have meetings and studies and all that baloney and when it is time to actually do something with them, guess what...no money left!!!!:? That is the story all around this backwards good ole boy state!! :evil:They are too worried about lining their pockets to let the money get where it should.....kay....stepping off the soapbox now!

It stalled a bit and was a Cat 2 before it hit.

Praying you and your home are okay Kris!
