It's now downgraded to a Cat. 1 hurricane. It has not caused the flooding aniticipated. Kris's area is probably still getting rain.

Yep, we are fine, getting lots of rain and wind. We have gotten over a inch a rain doesn't seem like much but in South Texas we are flat and it's alot. But, we needed it. They spotted a tornado earlier over the house but it went right over. DH called home from work and said get in the bathroom now. I don't think it went down anywhere haven't heard. But, yes it hit land fall at CAT 2 the last I heard and did alot of damage the winds they say were 100 miles a per hour wow that is fast. I hope they all are safe down there. It's like I said we are about 147 south of us. Still close enough in my books, I wouldn't want to be any closer. Still raining and storming. Going to be good sleeping weather.

I just heard on GMA that the levees are holding!! PTL!! I have sympathy for all who have to go through hurricanes and their aftermath as I witnessed first hand the destruction they bring (all of my inlaws lost all of their homes in Hurricane Rita) What people go through physically, emotionally, financially is heartbreaking to see. Every week at Mass, we say extra prayers for the protection from hurricanes. Praying for all those in Texas and Mexico that was affected by this one!

My husband was tracking the storm most of yesterday. I feel so bad for those folks in South Padre and Brownsville. It just stalled right over them and dumped lots of rain. I hope the flooding isn't too bad. I know what it is like to have yoru house flood. Kris I am so glad you guys are safe!

Woke up to a mess around us, the winds are something we lost our trampoline, gazebo and shed. Have someone else swimming pool in my yard. Went hunting today for parts of my trampoline found them hope we can fix it. Gazebo well that is gone I mean gone. Rain man we have had anywhere from 3 to 6 inches right now. DH went to work this morning he goes over the big bridge every day, called me when he got to work and said it was so bad the wind and rain they were driving 20 mph. that is slow. We didn't get hit as bad as Brownsville, but we are getting hit enough, tornado's have been something in this area, and floods, the people that are living in RV's they are picking them up and turning them over and floods man all the streets are flooding. Yes, the levees held thank God. now if I was just a few pounds lighter I could play Mary Poppins and fly away.

Kris, I'm sorry to hear that your family had some damage, but I'm glad you are safe. I saw on the news that that Port Aransas was hit pretty hard.

Here in San Antonio, we are getting rain now (YAY!!). There was a possible tornado south of us earlier this morning.

Glad there was no house damage, I hope you can fix the trampoline. Sorry to hear the Gazabo was hit. I guess your house is worth more now with a pool in the back yard (LOL). Take care and stay safe.

Tornadoes are popping up in San Antonio. So far the worst is south of us, but there are more severe storms headed our way.

Glad to hear you and your family are ok Kris. Rains been hitting here since 6am south of SA but no signs of tornados but I heard it hit on the south side knocking out a roof in SA.

We have had only 1 inch of rain, its still early though, guess we are not going to San Antonio today but I have to go to Lytle to return movies hope its over with later on.

We're out of the warning. There have been several reports of tornadoes in SA, but none have been confirmed yet. It's still raining, and we're under a watch until 6 pm. But, I think the most severe weather is past us now.

Well we decide to go out and see the damage that Dolly left I was so taken away I can't believe all the water around here. there are lots of RV under water, piers taken a part, roads you can't drive on as the water is so high. It just takes your breath away and the wind is still something out there. When I went over the big bridge it about blow me off the road. There is about a foot of water standing all over the place. I just hope the water goes down before we get those wonderful bugs that like to bite you. Any the way the wind is out there it should blow all the water away. We are still under tornado watch till 9 tonight.

Have you had any tornadoes, Kris? We have some flooding and roads closed here, so I know you must be in much worse shape there.

Yea, thank God the pink jet was ok I was more worried about that then anything the other stuff can be replace or fix, the jet no way.

Pam, we have had tornado about 3 miles from us hit down, but nothing here. Thank God. Roads and flooding are what we are dealing with right now the most. the island did get it really bad, they have lots and lots of RV parks and they got hit big time.
All the roads over there too. I know the road leading out of our town to the big bridge the water is right to it, never seen it that high.
