Does anyone remember Whizzers? Beth's post made me think of that. I got one when I was 8 or 9 and loved it.

Hmmmm, you think so? Cuz I don't think most of us were around in the early 50's or before, which is when those bikes were around. Wonder what else it would be though?!

I've been cutting collard greens this afternoon and missed the question! 4 bushel boxes for a Thanksgiving meal at one of the local schools.

Anyway! Whizzers were a top that were about 4inches high I would estimate and a little less than if you take your thumbs and index fingers and make a circle. They had a small. Sort of a tear drop shape with a small bottom that you dragged across the floor to make it spin. Sort of like an old fashioned top but you could get accessories and make it do things such as a tightrope.

BTW Deena! I'm only 43! This came out in the early 70's.

"Tops you rev on the ground and place right side up and they spin real fast". I found this (no picture) at www.inthe80s.com. I graduated in 81 so I know this had to have been available in the 70's.
