Last night we had what I call Gracie's casserolle. I put a can of drained green beans in the bottom of a casserolle dish, then I put a layer of browned ground beef, put a little shredded cheese on that, then a layer of cooked potatoes and top it with more cheese. Bake it at 350 for 20 mins. I served it with corn bread. Tonight I haven't decided what we are having yet. I have to leave here a little before 6 to take Grace to tumbling so we may just have sandwhiches.
For lunch it's chicken nuggets and mac & cheese for the kids. For me, it's a grilled chicken and mushroom open-faced sandwich.... I can't wait! For dinner, dh is making a fire ring in the back yard so the kids can roast marshmallows. I'm hoping this also includes a cook-out... but if not, we'll probably have a Mexican steak and zucchini stir-fry I found in the cookbook.
Last night was cauliflower soup and farmer sausage. Today for lunch it's bagels, broccoli, watermelon and yogurt. Random, I know, but we like a variety of "tastes".
NOTHING!! I am going on strike!! Just kidding! We usually just snack or eat whatever is in the fridge on Sunday night. It is a fend for yourself night.
for dinner we are having meatball subs (I'm using frozen meatballs from Wal-mart, they are very good)..... I'll make a home made sauce.
since I already typed it up for another board I'm already addicted to: Saturday: Teri Thighs/rice/veg Sun: ribeye steaks w/potato au gratin (from box) and veg Mon: Honey marinated salmon, potatoes nand green beans "steamers" by green giant Tues: Turkey breast w/ pasta in vodka sauce Wed: manwich Thurs: Burgers Fri: Spaghetti of some sort Sat: cheesy clam chowder, from scratch, with possible homemade buns? Sun: Steaks, box potatoes and veg Of course, we're already a day behind because Hubby wanted leftover pasta yesterday, but whatever, we just keep plugging forward...
WOW!!! Ladies, she's new, and she's already impressing us, lol! (Welcome, Peggy! I've tried and tried to make a full week's menus, and decided it's not possible. You're a better woman than me !)
On the other board someone (who is really good at consistently planning weekly menus) starts a thread EVERY WEEK, and so everyone else jumps in and feels the pressure to make their plan too. It's a mommies board, we all have babies/toddlers, so we're all in the try-to-be-better-than-the-other-mom phase of life.
OH, NO!!! For a homeschooler, that's disaster!!! It means buying EVERY SINGLE CURRICULUM out there because "someone" said it worked GREAT for THEIR kid, and enrolling them in every single activity possible. A sure way to achieve burnout before first grade!
I plan a whole week at a time, its not that hard But neccessary if I"m not the one there at the grocery store.
*luckily* for me, our little town has NO activities for the under-4 crowd, so no chance of that!! but it might explain why I narrowed my curriculum choices down to 3 a couple weeks ago and now just stare at the options online, unable to make a decision...unable to even decide when (now or January) I want to start the "formal" program...
taco night here....I do have our dinners planned out for the week but not assigned to days. I'm a habitual mind-changer, isn't that my right? lol
Jackie, that is what I was thinking too, I think I need to move closer to her. I am lucky if I have the day planned by time it's time to eat. Aball is another one that does this too. Maybe between them both they can help me.
