    That does sound like fun!

I'm quite sure though that if it's in Houston, I won't be able to attend. I might can swing San Antonio for a day trip, especially if it's late September or early to mid-October. Houston's out of reach for us though.

    Good luck meeting there, guys!
That had to have been 2005, Kris....
Astroworld was nearly final on it's destruction in March of 2006.

Six Flags Houston - Better known to the locals as "Astroworld" does NOT exist anymore!
    ( . . . not that you can detect ANY anger in my tone . . .)

    Edited to add...
If you go to google and map it...
Or look astroworld up on google earth...
The current image is of it being dismantled....
You can see many of the coasters half torn down.....

Well I can't do November if it is on the weekend but any week day in November or anyday at all in October is fine with me. I can drive wherever I need to with or without hubby. If we can ever decide I think it'd be fun!!

There is Fiesta Texas and Sea World. They are both going to be really expesive though. And add a hotel to that and I'm not sure who all could afford it. This may never happen huh?

The homeschool day at Six Flags in Arlington will be in May(or March), but I think May. We will DEFINITELY be there! BUT that is a while away.

The tickets are cheaper on Homeschool day and if you can't come they can be used later. Also if it gets rained out before a certain time they give you ANOTHER ticket(!) for later.

Darn! Still (way) too far for me too and given the time of year (storm central) I'm not sure I could handle the thrill of a hurricane threat.

Have fun all of you just the same

Sea World (San Antonio) is having a homeschoolers day on September 27. It's a Thursday; everyone is admitted for $8.

Here's the info I got from the local hs yahoogroup:

Wow if they get to ride rides too that is a great deal! My only problem with going is the cost of a hotel room.

I had talked to dh about meeting in Austin and he was all for it. We were going to camp at a nearby state park so we could bring our dog and it would be cheaper.

Ya know even if this meet up doesn't happen we will more than likely still go camp for a weekend near Austin just for a weekend getaway. If we end up going anyway in October I'll let you guys know and anyone who feels like visiting can come on!

Our homeschool group is planning a trip to this. They were told NO RIDES would be up and running. It's more of an educational thing. But still sounds like something neat.

I won't be able to make it. I can't afford a hotel room at that time. If anyone goes please let us know how it was.
