    Ya....

Alright, since I'm going to be gone for a few days now for certain, and no telling how long, I'll lay my situation out there. Maybe someone can start a poll, probably starting with dates.

My dates are open, as long as we know at least a couple of weeks in advance. DH can probably make it for most dates, except in September.

I can travel and stay for free or cheap anywhere from Waco to San Antonio. Much further north or south than that, or hardly away from I-35 at all, is out for us.

We won't be able to stay at a motel no matter where it is, so that's part of why my location possibilities are so limited. We CAN camp out probably for a decently extended period of time, if that's what we end up doing. DH is off Sun and Mon nights anyway, so a Saturday through Monday campout or something similar would be excellent! There are a lot of places in the locales I mentioned to do this if enough want to have the get together in that form.

I can help put things together if it's held in Waco, and to an extent if it's held in Austin.

    ------------
I think we should run a poll to decide on a date. Start with mid-September and run it through mid-November. Then probably run it again with the most popular 3 or something to finalize it.

After we have a date, deciding location will probably be easier. People who are free on that date can state where they are and how far they're willing to drive. We can figure out from there where the radius' overlap and that should give us a location.

Once we have a location, we can decide what to do.

I'm all about planning, and would LOVE LOVE LOVE for this to happen! THANKS Kris for suggesting it! I'm willing to help make it happen - just let me get moved. LOL And a helper or two for logistics, especially in these first stages and while I'm gone some, would help. (So, if someone's willing to set up a dates poll, and then if I'm not back yet when it's done follow it up for a finalized date. Like I said, any date is fine with me, so I won't mind missing giving input there.)

ALSO, though, I dont' want to push anyone OUT of planning/helping to plan just because I'm jumping on it. LOL I'm just excited. Ya'll let me know and I'm willing to do whatever. :)

I'll be around on Tuesday, but Wednesday we will be out of this house. (DH wants to be COMPLETELY out by Wednesday evening.) NOt sure still when the cable will be on at the new place, in order for me to have cable access.

I'm going to PM a few of you in case anyone wants to get a hold of me. I haven't called the cable company yet, so it's possible that it will be a couple of weeks before I'll be back!

Oh we had a great time! I saw Jennifererix, Jennibear and Jamster plus some people I met back in May when I went to their park day. If I didn't live so far I would join the group. It really is a great group of people but it takes me an hour to get there. Samantha brought her newly hs'ed friend with us and they all had fun. Next Friday the 7th we are all meeting again at the Houston Children's Museum for homeschool day. Oh and I got to see Jennifererix's husband! We sat and talked a while and he showed me how to work my camera! He seems to be doing great! Last time I saw him was the day before his accident. They are awesome people.

I can't wait to meet you guys!

I'm almost sure the park you're referring to in Austin is Zilker Park. It's like 144 acres and all sorts of things.

We've heard great things about it.

We haven't been because it's a doozie to get to anything but the playground, and even for that you'll have to drive through urban Austin - NEVER an easy task. Just my two cents.

Oh Kris I wish you could come! That would be so fun! Our children's museum is pretty cool. We've been quite a few times but the last time was like a year or two ago. We will probably go early when they open, stay till lunch and then go over to Herman Park for a picnic lunch and a train ride. So much fun.
