I thought it would be fun to share pictures of our Christmas Trees. This is ours. I realize it is still early, but I couldn't resist putting it up last night. The more I did this last weekend means the less I have to do this weekend, and since I have 4 days off I want to have as little to do as possible! :D Anyone else want to share? I know, I'm probably the only one that has hers up this early!

Jen its beautiful. How are you planning on keepig your kitties away from it?? (and daycare kids for that matter)

we are going to be rearranging our living room to put ours in, that means we will be getting rid of MY recliner, its falling apart and we are looking forward to tax time to get new living room furnature. My DH is working friday, saturday and sunday after thanksgiving (he didn't want to) but the extra money will be a nice start to the Christmas shopping and there fore we put our tree up as soon as presents are bought.

your tree is beautiful. we don't have our up yet. We are late tree putter uppers. We usually wait until the 23rd. We started this when the kids were so young they would get into it and now it is a tradition. The kids say they like it better this way as it is more exciting.

It's a cute little tree. Jen- your house looks like it's older. Is it? I like the older houses.

Honestly, the kids haven't touched it, except for Tanner that is. I had to threaten to send him to this room for the rest of the day if he kept touching the tree. I think he's just excited, but it's really getting ridiculous with him and the tree. Fortunately, none of the other kids care much. They look at it, but they don't touch.

Our older cat has always been really good with our trees. Our kitten we were worried about, but she has only been sniffing it and batting at a few ornaments. They both are totally declawed so they can't really get up in it. The orange cat we use to have use to sit on the bottom of our old tree and stick his head out of the branches like his head was a Christmas ornament. One year he got to the second level of branches and we came home to find a new huge cat head ornament in our tree! :D So far the kitten hasn't done much though, which is good. I was afraid she'd be a huge pest, but so far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed still.

Yeah, built in about 1930 I think. It has it's own charm, just small which can be a pain. I'm amazed we fit that tree in that corner. It's a new tree, slim, our old one was large and use to go in the dining room and it just didn't feel right not being in the living room. So, I got a skinny tree, but it's 7.5 feet tall. The stairs are in the way but luckily we just made'er fit with only a couple millimeters to spare! :D

Not sure when we'll get our tree up. The kids will want to get things up not long after we get home from my parents after Thanksgiving!

We like getting ours up within a week or so after Thanksgiving, cuz then we have longer to enjoy it! It's hard to get it out and decorate it (though that's fun!), then put it all away! So we try to have it up as long as possible to make it worth all the trouble! :)

we have a large fake tree, but you can put it up against the wall and not put in the branches against the wall, and it still looks big, I put so much cyenne pepper to keep the cat out of it, that when we took it down last year the kids all started sneezing and asked I didn't do that this year, I don't think I'll have to, it probably has so much still in it.

I don't think I'm allowed to read this thread until AFTER Thanksgiving dinner, lol! We go to the store and the kids love to point out the Christmas stuff to me, because I always tell them that no, I can't see it yet. It doesn't exist until after Thanksgiving. I won't let Faythe listen to the local Christian radio station when I'm around any more, because all they play on it is Christmas music, and I can't listen to that until after dinner on Thanksgiving! So in a few more days I'll respond to this thread. Until then, it DOESN'T REALLY EXIST, lol!!!

You know, one of our local stations started playing Christmas music two weeks ago! And it's not even the Christian station that is playing it yet. They start theirs on Thursday or Friday. Santa has even been at the local mall since the beginning of November. Geesh!

That's just not right!!! Thanksgiving is VERY important, imho! There's plenty of time for Christmas stuff AFTER Thanksgiving's over! Besides, Santa shouldn't be lolligaggin' at the malls, he needs to be helping get the sleigh and reindeer ready!

lol @ Jackie. I totally agree. My hubby started singing christmas carols the other day and I plugged my ears.

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holdiay. I think it is sad that it is often over looked by christmas. In stores we go from Halloween to christmas, to valentines day, to easter. They totally skip the Thanksgiving because it is the one holiday that isn't consumer guided. That is just so sad. Thanksgiving is the best holiday because it leaves all that out. I can be with my family and be thankful for all the blessing God has bestowed on me. Most of all for sending Jesus my savior. Best of all it doesn't cost a dime to do this.

Actually, I'm a little frustrated with the local Christian station over the way they handle Christmas. Now, is it just me, or do I have a point? You guys let me know!!! See, they are music only (no talk). But, being a Christian station, they only play Christian music. OK, so far no complaints about that! But when Christmas comes around, suddenly they play both Christian and secular Christmas music. Now, there's nothing wrong with secular Christmas music, but there's nothing wrong with ALL secular non-Christmas music, either. I mean, what possible value is there in a song that declares, "I wanna hippopontamus for Christmas......!" It just seems to me that at Christmas, when their goal should be focused on their "mission" even more so, the "sell out", so to speak. Anyway, that's just MHO!!!

I've wondered that same thing Jackie. You should call up the station and ask THEM! It'd be interesting what they had to say!

Jackie, I can see where that would be weird. Our local station doesn't do that though. Maybe they think the same thoughts you do.

You all better post your trees when you get them up!! Come on, what are you all waiting for? ;) Kris, I'd love to see your tree anyway. I like Charlie Brown trees! :D
