Hmm, I saw this before but I guess I didn't chime in with my stats (oops).

When I started to take the weight loss seriously, I was stuck at 182 lbs. Some 4 weeks later I am down to 172 :D Down 10 lbs, 30 more to go.

What did I change? Mainly my eating habits (eating a lot more fruit and vegetables). Once I'm able to get more active, watch me go :)

YES!! Exercised yesterday AND today.. Patting myself on the back.. LOL! Eating smaller portions and choosing some healthier foods today.. Today I had a green smoothy for breakfast for lunch Probably eat some left over speghetti (not the best choice) and some raw veggies.. Drank some green tea.. YUMMMM I sure hope that I can see some changes in my weight soon, but if I don't then so be it.. I am loving how I feel...

New short term goal is to go the rest of this week without Sugary drinks.. :)
Having a hard time drinking water though.. I just don't drink a lot in general.. I'm still working on the same bottle of water that hubby brought me last night :/ So my goal is to drink at least 32oz of water a day for the rest of the week.

Spaghetti isn't a bad choice but if you can switch to a whole wheat pasta, it's even better because it takes longer for your body to break it down.

 When you aren't used to drinking a lot of water, it's an adjustment to get to where you need to be but once you get there, it's second nature for you. Keep trying, don't give up

Did anybody read the article in the NY Times Magazine this past Sunday about the snack food industry? What a great article. I'm going to really try to eliminate bringing salty foods into the house for the next two weeks. They say it will re-set my desire for salty foods.

One of my older daughters and I began a weight loss program this Wednesday. She wanted to try this program and asked me to go with her. My daughter in law is following it and loves it. She has lost a lot and looks so good and feel great. So here I go again. I had gastric bypass a few years back but need to finish what I started there. I would love to lose 40 pounds. I am walking and trying to give up Diet Coke too.

I was told by a friend that a very good vitamin B-complex supplement and chromium picolinate help cure sugar cravings. I have tried it and when I take them regularly it works. I am just not so good at remembering to take them!

Sorry guys, been super busy and sick! I didn't weigh yet, I'm scared to! I've been tracking my food with myfitnesspal and I'm afraid if I haven't lost any I'll get discouraged! haha.

I'm getting 5 teeth extracted Monday morning so I'll weigh after I haven't been able to eat for a day hahaha

Well, I'm a sugar junkie. There are a couple of ways I've handled it,

for one-make sure you don't have any fungal infections. When I was breastfeeding and we got thrush-oh my goodness I would have clawed someone's eyes out for a cupcake with tons of buttercream! Seriously-I got the baby out at like 2 am once to go to walmart for cupcakes!

    2. Make sure you're really craving sweets and not just a blood sugar boost. eat a healthy snack with some carbs is it before reaching for the sugar.

    3. allow yourself a daily treat-like one square of dark chocolate (your getting a sugar fix, but you're also getting those healthy antioxidants) or 1 small favorite cookie. Go all out and buy fancy ones you usually don't spring for so it's an extra special treat. (My favorite cookies are these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...r=8-2&keywords=country+choice+organic+cookies oh my goodness, I bought a pack on clearance one day....huge mistake, now I'm addicted to over priced cookies! LOL Best cookies ever! I dream about these bad boys!)

    4. cut out sweets totally for a week or two then you will find natural sweets much sweeter. Apples, dried fruit, bananas, oranges are full of natural sugar that honestly, I just can't truly taste because of my ice cream addiction!

I know it's not Monday, but I was impatient and weighed-in early. I'm down another 4 pounds, making 13 total lost. My weight loss goal is now at 46 pounds. It's been a good week. We managed to go for walks almost every day, and I've exchanged two of my three daily cups of coffee with dandelion root and apple cinnamon tea. I've been trying to replace high carb foods at dinner time with an extra serving of vegetables, and I'm still giving myself daily treats. Oh, and I'm slowing getting back into my supplement routine to see if I can get some more improvement on the Lyme symptoms/recovery.

DOUBLE high five!!! Woo Woo!! Way to GO!!!!! I will weigh in a few.. I've really watched what I have eaten and drank this week.. It sure is hard to keep from eating JUNK when you are out shopping.. Places with names like CRISPY CREAM don't help a bit.. Who can resist something that is supposed to be CRISPY AND CREAMY at the same time??:eek: But I did.. I totally bipassed it and went and got a dry chicken sandwich instead.. Didn't eat all the bread.. Mostly ate the chicken and had WATER for the drink NO FRIES either.. Not sure that I've actually lost anything but I'm pleased with the way I am resisting some things that I normally wouldn't have.. Maybe this is the foundation to my new habit of living healthier?? I sure feel a LOT better.. :)

I am so excited! I am down 10 pounds so far and really feel good about the way it is going. My daughter is out of town this weekend but she planned to make wise food choices while they are gone.

That's great!! It's nice when our changes filter down to the kids too. My husband is trying to make some dietary changes this time which helps me more than anything.

Thanks! :D I was pretty stoked this last weigh in. I actually was expecting to see a gain, because it didn't feel like I had lost anything, so seeing that number was exciting!

Ooooh....Crispy Cream.....mmmm I haven't had one of those in years. Before they downsized, they used to carry them in our local gas station. Hubby knew the guy that brought the doughnuts and would give us boxes full of the day old ones for free. I'd be trying to lose weight and wake up to a box of doughnuts on the counter.

Way back when, when I was a kid, the Boy Scouts would go door-to-door selling Krispy Kreme as a fund raiser on Saturday mornings. And they sold LOTS of donuts!!! Who can say no to the Boy Scouts, especially when it's perfect for the kids to eat while glued in front of the TV?

Ugh. I weigh 143.5. That means I'm up .5 pound since we started. I havevn't exercised in the past two days because I'm sick.

I am wearing a pair of jeans that I had laid out to give away because I could not get in them any more. I am so glad I kept them. I even bought a pair of jeans today at the Goodwill in a smaller size to hang up in the bedroom to keep me inspired. I have been walking on my treadmill every day and drinking lots more water. Can't wait to be able to walk outside but it is still too cold and windy.

Like those commercials they have now with the little girl at the door with a box of doughnuts? And the lady can resist because she ate such-n-such diet bar or something?
