I remember when the WW ice cream sandwiches came out, our leader ate a whole box! She told us about it at a meeting and we all had a good laugh about it then but I totally understood. I can't have ice cream in the house unless it is a kind I don't like. Points made it too easy for me to eat junk food too. Yesterday I went back to the weight loss clinic and got a great report. I go back in May to see how I have done. It was funny though, Katie's husband lost more than either one of us and he doesn't go to the doctor. He just eats what she eats! We were talking to the doctor and one thing she likes was that this has totally cured Katie's stomach problems. She was having irritable bowel problems before we started this and it is completely gone now. She is feeling so much better and so am I. I feel cleaner if that makes sense. I am becoming a water addict too. Never thought I would say that but I keep a water bottle with me all the time now and drink it all day long. Major change there. I was a Diet Cokeaholic before. Five weeks have made a huge change.

After dh realized I was in it for the long haul this time and one week down of being really good, he brought up the Fitbit again. We have talked about it a few times now, but this time he decided to bite the bullet and buy it for me. I told him only if he was willing to use it after my 10 week goal was met (I hate buying things for myself, so it sort of justifies it to think we will both benefit from it). He said I may not want to give it up after 10 weeks. Well, it arrived Tuesday night. I used it all day yesterday and I am in love. It really helps with the calories in and calories burned. If I did not have a phone that links to it, I don't think I would love it as much. However, I always have my phone handy so I just click the app, choose anything I eat and log my water. It is also like someone there to challenge me. I know my goal number of steps, and can see visually how much more to go, how many calories I have left to eat, etc. Dare I say it is actually kind of fun.

OK, here's what I'm trying. Take lemon, lime, and cucumber (YES, CUCUMBER!) slices and put in a pitcher; fill with water. And that's suppose to help with weight loss. You can refill the pitcher, but pitch the fruit/cukes after 48 hours. I saw that posted somewhere, and figured it was worth trying. And so far, if it does nothing else, it's helping me drink the water better!

The cuke is the overwhelming taste of the water, but I'm getting use to that!

I'm getting serious today!! Had a bottle of water and exercised this morning. The track I had been using to walk (middle school) is now sometimes locked. I wasn't getting anything done! I added the Sworkit app to my phone. You can choose the type and length of workouts. I'm having to start slow, because I'm more out of shape than I realized!! I did a 10 min cardio circuit and a 5 min core strengthening circuit. It's not a lot, but I have to start somewhere!

I've got to work on my diet more. I've gotten better at planning well balanced dinners, but need to work more on limiting sugars and my portion sizes. I think my worst habit is overeating at dinner, because I rarely take time time do more than snack throughout the day. And dinners are late for us because of swim practices from 5-7:30pm every night.

That sounds similar to the water they have you do in a book called the flat belly diet. I flipped through the book, but never followed through. I think that one adds ginger as well.

I have found I do not like cold water unless I am out in the heat. I like to make a cup of herbal tea and add it to my water bottle and fill the rest with water. It is just enough to add some flavor and keep the water warm. Today I am having lemon. The other day was a spice tea.

Nike makes a wrist one. Dh thought he would like that one better (I guess the Nike one actually reminds you throughout the day to get moving). However, he decided last night that he did not want to always have to wear it on his wrist, so he went ahead and ordered his own Fitbit.

Yeah - I just want to try it out and I think it would work better for me because of what I do around here.

Today - I HATE Jillian Michaels - LOL... Seriously - she kicked my BUTT this morning. I started week 2 of the Ripped in 30 DVD and I was dying. I took a break in the middle to answer the phone (which I usually don't do).... and it STILL killed me.

    Doing it again tomorrow :)

I've been watching what I've eaten all day--honeydew melon for breakfast, spring mix salad for lunch (with carrots, tomatoes, green onions, a few croutons and ranch dressing), and an apple with peanut butter for a snack. I've had only water to drink (YAY!!). I am struggling with being hungry. I keep trying to drink water instead of reaching for a snack!

I am hanging in there but for some reason I have had trouble wanting to snack for the last two or three evenings. I don't know why. I am sticking to my plan though and I record everything I eat, my exercise totals and my water totals. So far it is working. I didn't get to go walk at the park today but the treadmill is waiting for me.

I have found that it really depends on what I eat. For example, I was alternating between cereal and oatmeal for the first few days until I decided to try some Fiber One cereal. It made such a difference. With oatmeal or a fruit, I am hungry within an hour. With this cereal (the fiber helps to make you feel full longer) I am fine with no snacks until lunch. Then, at lunch I am careful about where my calories go. I pick a low calorie dressing (dh told me long ago to avoid the creamy dressings and go with a vinegar and oil based). I also like to put a little bit of sunflower seeds to make it a little more filling. After two weeks, I am trying to branch out from salads. I have eaten soup (watch serving size) and pita sandwiches (100 calorie pitas). I also bought some TV dinners that are under my 400 calorie goal for one meal. Then, between lunch and dinner or dinner and bedtime (whichever you need it most for), try a glass of orange Metamucil (it will help you fill full for awhile). Anyway, those would be my suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions! I noticed how high in calories dressing is. I like the vinegar and oils, so I'm going to go with that from now on. I love nuts (either sunflower seeds or almonds) in my salads, but I was out today. I also love craisins in salads.

I'm going to try something more filling for breakfast. When we are busy with school, I don't notice being hungry. It's in the afternoon before dinner that I struggle. I think overall I did fairly well today. I've got to make sure I'm getting protein to make sure the muscle stays and the fat goes!!!

Great job to you all!!!!! I did terrible last week. So much for getting on track. I need to drink more water. I do believe it helps much. I also realized I am not eating as much fruits this last week . Time to change it up. As for Salad dressing I don't even like it so my salads don't have all the dressing. Lucky for me. ;)

I am so surprised to see someone else who does not like salad dressing! I have never liked it and people look at me like I am kidding when I say, "No dressing please." My husband and our youngest daughter love Ranch dressing with everything!

And here I thought I was the only one, well almost, I do have one daughter that doesn't like it either. I used to think I didn't like salad as a kid then I discovered it was really the dressing.

My husband doesn't like dressing either. Well, he doesn't like many veggies, so his salads tend to be lettuce, cucumbers, croutons, and bacon bits. :)

I did better yesterday! Kept my calories down--still just above my recommended 1200, but better than I have been. I only drank water yesterday and got in a 20 cardio/strenghtening workout. My kids all joined in, and thought it was fun. We may make this a family event!!

I want to be able to buy smaller jeans when the cool weather hits in the fall. I want to look decent in my clothes. I'm going to get there!!

Ok - I LOVE dressing ;) However, I use Walden Farms which is calorie free. They have an AWESOME Asian/Ginger one which works as a great marinade as well.

So I now have a love/hate relationship going on with my Tae Kwon Do instructor & Jillian Michaels... my legs are killing me after last nights' work out and then the Ripped in 30 DVD this morning.... I have such a love/hate relationship with Jillian - I had to buy another DVD ;) Then my friends brought me over a pull up bar last night which Jake was nice enough to assemble for me today so I get to play with that.

I found out last night at Tae Kwon Do I can't do sit ups - so that's my next challenge and I'll add in a certain # per day.... I had issues with push ups and have fixed that issue.
