I am desparate to loose weight! I jiggled all the way this Christmas. I do not want another Christmas like that. lol. I am planning on loosing 20-25 pounds. I remember when all I had to loose was 10! lol. I started getting back on track on Wednesday. That is a victory in and of itself...I have always been a victim of the, "I'll start on MOnday" routine. I plan to be back to my normal self by the beginning of April. I feel that is enough time to safely and realistically loose 20-25 pounds.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else here is planning on loosing some pounds this 2007. I kinda have to or I won't have a thing to wear this Spring! lol. Actually, I am running out of clothes to wear now!

ME! I started South Beach 2 weeks before Christmas. I have lost 10 so far. I am considerably overweight. I have a lot to lose, but I am setting small goals for myself so I can celebrate each one.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll look great and feel great too. By spring time you'll look fabulous in all your pretty pastels.

ME! Mine is more of a lifestyle change: Less cheese, more water, consistent exercise, lose some weight. I'm not way overweight, but I'm over what I WANT to be! I'd like to lose 10-15 pounds----and KEEP IT OFF!!! I did physical exercise twice this week---I went to Curves once (that gets me motivated to exercise when I go there! The people are friendly and it's fun to get out. It's just a matter of finding the time to get there!), and went on the treadmill for 30 minutes once. I'm hoping to go on the treadmill today too. That'd make 3 good workouts this week.

I started back to Weight Watchers last Saturday. I am not ready to say how much I want to lose but lets just say... a lot. I have lost some this week. I weigh in tomorrow at my class but I weigh at home too so I know I have lost some. I am lucky because my daughter is in the class with me and that helps. We support each other. I need to get healthy to keep up with my kids. I am working at it at least. I am not good at exercising at the weight and physical condition I am in right now but maybe in a few months. Good luck to all of you who are in the same boat. Beth

I lost 30 pounds last year, but then my thyroid crashed and I've gained most of it back. When my thyroid crashes I get very lethargic and depressed and sleepy - and I don't figure out why because I can't think well enough because I'm lethargic, depressed, and sleepy! ugh.. So now I need to work on it again (I need to lose at least 80 pounds), but I'm afraid to. :(

The reprot came in just the other day that my cholestoral is high, and she wants me to deal with that. Of course, that means losing weight and eating more properly! (BTW, Marylyn, Mom has thyroid trouble. So my gyn had that checked out along with the cholesterol. She says it's working fine, I'm glad to say!)

I'll join you. Honestly I have about 70 lbs to lose! Seriously!!!

This month I'm concentrating on eating better, learning what I can and can't eat (see my Celiac post).

I plan on adding exercise in February, hoping I can be fully functional on the diet part by then.

    :) I'll be in....

I always have good intentions to lose weight, but never seem to follow through. But...with my back problems and going to physical therapy, they have me on a pretty good exercise routine, and for the water drinking....I just got new appliances and the fridge has the ice/water in it...so I have been drinking LOTS of water. So, maybe....this time....I can do it!!! I would like to lose about 10-15 pounds now. That should get me back into my clothes from last summer! LOL

    Me! Me!

I need to lose weight so badly. I am caught in the cycle of exercise--hurt my back, cannot exercise, muscles (the few there are get weaker) and each time I restart it is worse.

This year it is a serious (large amount) and I need to do it.

My sister gave me a bunch of clothes at the holidays that she is now to small for. How is that for sisterly motivation? They are lovely and in good shape...if I could only fit in them.

    Going to do it!!

Joyfuldays, Take it slow and easy! Better to do it slowly and have it not hurt or injure yourself, than lose weight fast! We're here for ya! :D

My sister gives me clothes too. She and I are close to the same size or were. She has already lost about 30 pounds. She doesn't have kids and buys nicer clothes than I ever would so I like getting them a lot. She is the one who asked me to go back on a weight loss plan. She said she needed me to help her lose weight or she was going to die. She is feeling a lot better since losing the 30 some pounds but like me has a lot more to lose. I think it is easier for her because she doesn't have the kids to feed and have snacks for. I am really into it right now and don't feel tempted to eat the treats I buy for them but on a weak day it is rough when they want to have chocolate chip cookies warm from the oven. I am trying to be strong and stick to it though.

Most of the 20 I lost last yr seems to have reappeared. Ideally, I'll loose that again this spring & eventually 20 more. I really do need a new scale, because this one is so temperamental.

Yeah, my scale is too! Why can't it just keep going down instead of going up and down and up and up and down........?! :D

my scale got tossed, it never seemed right anyway, gave me high hopes then I would go to the dr and find out it was off!
ANyway, I plan to start excercise routine along with my phsyical therapy after surgery next week ( that isunles the Lord decided He is going to give me one of those instant healings I have been prayed for and have prayed for myself!) I know if I have the surgery I will be down for a week before I can get moving more, so then I wil being walking as soon as I can. My problem ismore need of excerises, I eat fairly well, mainly low fat, light meats and I mean little of it, and good deal of vegies and rice.
I don't eat large portions, but really knoe I need more excersize!

My FIL got one for Christmas, and electronic one. I stepped on it, and there was NO WAY I wieghted that much!!! So I had a bone density test run on Jan 3, and they weighed me then. It was 10 lbs. lighter than what my FIL's said!!! (I would have been happier if it had been 20 lbs. lighter, but I'll take what I can get, lol!)

I am trying to make it a lifestyle change, like Deena. I want to fucus on the weight but then it turns into a weight issue again and I am back to square one of loosing weight instead of being healthy. I got rid of my scale. I was a slave to it. I stepped on it everyday and was brought down by what I seen. I figure that if I exercise regularly and eat when I am hungry, I will loose the weight naturally. Granted, what I eat has a bit to do with it but I think it is how much I eat that is the real problem for me. I keep telling myself, a strong heart and muscles is what is going to work better then diet alone because stronger muscles burn more calories. Besides, diets are not good for the Thyroid. Thyroid and Graves' Disease runs rampant in my family so I need to be careful.

okay, one thing I have found usefull in loosing weight or in life style change is that we have to keep our focus on the Lord in all things. Remember that He created us and that we need to love oursevles as we are first, knowing that He loves us. If we do not feel comfortable with who we are ( in Him) then we will never accomplish our goal of weight loss.
So what I want to share is that, keep your mind stayed on Him, and not only will you be able to accomplish what you need but He will keep you in perfect peace while you do it!
Do not worry for the cares of this world can truely get us caught up and make us totaly focus on us by other peoples standards.. I understand some people have health issues and that any of us could become an issue, but we need to remember that our weightloss begins with focusing on Him, and asking His help in our weight loss and health building, life changes!
When we ask Him to direct us in all that we do then we will find it easy to loose, to shape to build for His glory..
okay, Just felt the need to share that with ya all,
HUgs! hope no one gets offended but blessed instead!

I had my first weigh in since I went back to Weight Watchers today. Not including the one last week when I went back and saw how much I had gained back of course. So today after one week on program I am down....
DRUM ROLL PLEASE! 6.6 pounds. I am so pleased. And it was not hard. I have lots more to go but that puts my total loss at just over 25 pounds again. Yay me! Pray for me. I always start out great and then lose interest. I really need to get this weight off this time. Beth
