We had a trampoline for several years. We never had one injury. WOOHOO! I was always nervous, though, with it. Even after we had it a while...you just never know what could happen. Thankully, it is gone now, and we have nothing but great memories with it!! :)

I have no choice but to loose 30 lbs this year. This winter has been hard on me. There are health issues involved, so it's a must. Good thing the weather is getting nicer. Told DH maybe we should look into going back to FL for his next duty station. We were active year round.

My 14 year old did great today and I am excited for her. She never complained once and this evening said she wasn't hungry when I asked if she needed a snack after church. I am so proud of how great she did today. I am praying she loses a little before Saturday. That is when Katie told her we would sit down together and see how we all are doing. She even played softball at church today. Usually she doesn't play since she got hurt there last fall. She wore her ankle braces and didn't have any problems. I will let you know how she and I do. Yes, please do, Beth! That's neat that you're all working this together!

Today the kids had icecream, and I ate salad! That was a step! :) If we keep making little steps, they'll add up, huh? So let's keep trying, so we can be ready for summer!

Our mini tramp is only 41 inches across. When our oldest was learning spelling or math facts and couldn't sit still, I'd let him tramp--one bounce for each letter or number. Many children have used this one and no injuries, because it's so low to the floor. One word of advice: there are mini-tramps that are so inflexible that it's no fun using them. You really have to try them out before purchasing.

Yes, you really have to be careful with the big ones. Only one person at a time should use them, but it's tempting to get more on, because you can interrupt the bounces of another person, and it feels crazy. Kids like to do that. They also like to have someone stand at the edge and throw balls into the foray--yipes! Not when I'm around! At a friend's house, our children were involved in a "crack the egg" game, without our supervision. I think the "egg" part referred to their heads!

    Oh my! Crack the egg......ouch!

We always had at least 2 on the tramp...and often time more. It always made me nervous....but, I let them. My dd always like to put the sprinkler under it in the summer and slide around on it. WHAT was I thinking???

Ava , start by teaching your kids how to spot around the edges of the trampoline and teach them to never jump with out proper supervision and you will be fine!
In school when I lived in Canada we had Trampolines, they taught us how to spot as young as grade school. Even with a net you need to limit to two kids on one and an adult should really be in view to make sure that they are not doing anything crazy like back flips! Thoug they are awesome hehe! Front flips from the knees are easier and less dangerous cause you tuck your chin to your chest!

Okay this is Crystal's first report. Drum roll please! She is down two pounds in just one day. Now of course I will explain to her that it will not continue to be like that and some days she will be up or maintain but for now I am just letting her feel good about her efforts and loss. She is doing great again today and seems to be really into exercising again. I am so proud of her and hoping she will be more comfortable with herself in time for church camp in June. I have lost a total of 12 pounds now too but hers is more exciting to me. As you can probably tell we had been eating really bad! Beth

Yes, Ava Rose. I also plan on shedding some weight this year. I'd love to have more children and need to lose it before pregnancy. I've lost 10 pounds so far this year. Last week I started exercising on my eliptical trainer for 30 minutes a day for 4 days. This week I bumped it up to 40 minutes. It's hard to do so I do it first thing in the morning. With it out of the way, I feel better and am less hungry. (by the way, I bought my machine for less than $150 at Wal Mart) I have 60 pounds to go.... It's good to know I'm not alone in this battle. I'm going to win.

I was down another pound this morning. Yay! That makes 13 pounds this week! I am not kidding. I feel great and am not hungry. I admit I am a little bored with the food but 13 pounds!! I won't let Crystal do the low carb diet with my sister and me because she doesn't like eggs very much and she is really picky about meat. She is just eating healthy and less, exercising more and drinking water. She is down 3 pounds since she started on Wed. I am so happy for her. She is very proud of her success so far. I need to lose a lot! I am 5' 9'' and carry way too much weight. Crystal wants to lose about 40 pounds total.

That is great Beth! Something you might want to watch is your cholesterol with the low carb diet....my friend did great on the low carb, but when she had her bloodwork down her cholesertol was VERY high...so she had to stop the diet. (not to be a downer...just want you to be healthy!!) :)

My sister mentioned that too. I will tell the doctor so she will be sure to know what I am doing. I hadn't lost any today but 13 pounds in one week is a LOT! I know it won't continue at that rate but it sure was nice to start off big.
