thought I'd share this weight watchers recipe I just found. I think it looks pretty good. Think I will try it next week!

    Oven-Fried Fish

    POINTS® value | 4
    Servings | 4
    Preparation Time | 10 min
    Cooking Time | 15 min
    Level of Difficulty | Easy

    Ingredients:

    2 sprays cooking spray
1 1/4 pound halibut fillet(s), or flounder fillets, four 5 oz pieces
1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste
1/8 tsp black pepper, freshly ground, or to taste
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, or more to taste
    1/3 cup dried bread crumbs
1 Tbsp Mrs. Dash Grilling Blends Mesquite, seasoning, or similar product
    Instructions

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.

Season fish fillets all over with salt and pepper; spread mustard all over both sides of fillets.

In a shallow dish, combine bread crumbs and mesquite seasoning; add fish fillets and turn to coat both sides. Transfer fillets to prepared baking sheet and spray surface with cooking spray. Bake until fish is fork-tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Yields 1 fillet per serving.
    Notes

This crispy coated fish boasts a distinct, smoky mesquite flavor. The coating's crisp enough to mimic real fried fish but thanks to the oven, contains a fraction of the fat. Try the coating with chicken breasts, too.

    Well done to you all!
I joined wieght watchers in2004 and lost 30 kg (not sure how many pounds that is, but more that 60!). Good news is I have kept it off. It took 12 months to lose it all. I would recommend weight watchers to anyone - real food, my kids and dh eat it too, and they like it!
So keep going.....anything worthwhile takes time and effort.

Well I went to my WW meeting this morning and I had maintained. I was a little disappointed but it is fine. I had not cheated one single time so I thought I had lost at least a little. I had by my scales. But I am not discouraged. It will be better next Saturday I am sure.

Don't give up. I know that ca be discouraging when you feel like you had lost a little and find out you didn't. The good tink is that you didn't gain!! I am really trying to get back to the weight watchers program. I do fine at home, but when I go out I lose control!! I just found out that my sil is going now, so I may see if I can go with her for some accountability.

(I am just so proud of myself for drinking alot of water now. I am down to about 1 diet pepsi a day!! That is HUGE for me!)

That is great Leslie. I am a Diet Coke person and I have trouble drinking enough water. I made that one of my goals for next week. I like the little packs you pour in the water to make diet lemonaid, so that helps me get some water in. I am really trying to do this. I will get there.

Oh I forgot to mention my big success! Drum roll please!
I was able to go to the park with the girls for two days in a row now and exercise. We played tennis for a long time the first day. Mostly I went after the missed balls and helped them with drills. Then we did little exercises like they would do in PE at school. Today we did the tennis again and played some basketball very carefully because of Crystal's ankle problems. I had a blast and am only a little sore. I hope we can go again tomorrow afternoon. I haven't been able to do stuff like this in a long time. 26.6 pounds makes a difference!

    I weighed myself for the first time since I started! I lost 7 lbs! :D :D :D

I've also been working on the water. I won't let myself have any sweets (chocolate) until I drink all my water. It really motivates me!

Tea is actually a diuretic - that is it makes you urinate more often. So the overall effect is that you get less water, not more! Diet cordial and diet sof drinks work well though.

Oh Man! I was terrible yesterday. I don't know what got into me. I am back on track today. I know I can do this but for some reason yesterday I lost it! Maybe it was disappointment from my weigh in on Saturday but I thought I was okay with that. Sigh! Oh well today is a new day.

Ahhhhh the misnomer of nutrasweet!!! That stuff is SOOOOO bad for ya! Sorry....I know....diet coke....I know....

Well....there have been studies (and I'll danged if I can find the links righ tnow, I'll post em as soon as I find them) that the process that it goes thru encourages your body to absorb twice as much fat as it would without it. Also, "replacement fats" like the Olean and such that diet foods are fried in actually rob your body of important nutrients.

Back to nutrasweet. It also can't be heated - it can be potentially toxic in high doses. Heat causes it's chemical compound to change from the structure that it is to sweeten, to a structure that would be used as a preservative...but....I can't remember which one! Again, i need to find those links!!!

I've heard Splenda is better. Personally, i think it tastes better, and it can be heated without ill effect to the taste or anything. Splenda is a derivative of sugar, but it goes thru a chemical process to take out the calories (like they clorinate it or something strange like that).

My favorite is stevia - you can get it in liquid or powder form. It's all natural, not processed - I think its a petal of a flower or something like that. I have the powder. I don't bake with it though, I do use real sugar in baking. I mean, lets face it, if you're going to have brownies, even just a small one, you want it to taste good don't you???? LOL :D

Anyway....ways to get water into your system:

add fruit - or do half/half with fruit juices (make sure 100% juice and not a blend or cocktail that has high fructose corn syrup).

Decaf teas - I make a mix of peach, vanilla and green tea (an antioxidant that's helpful in losing weight). When they are all decaf the "diuretic" effect is removed because there is no caffiene. I don't sweeten it, I just drink it plain, the vanilla and peach combo makes it pretty sweet on its own.

Seltzer water - this may be an acquired taste. But my grocery store sells seltzer in flavors - raspberry, orange, lemon/lime, plain and I think wild cherry. I LOVE raspberry. It's not sweetened at all, so that's what takes getting some use too. It is fizzy, like a soda though, so for me, it hleps with my soda cravings.

Okay, I'm just rambling now! :D

well what do people do when they are diabetic they have to drink diet drinks all the time. So, When I ask my mil doctor about that sweeter thing he laughed and said you have to drink alot in one day to upset or hurt anything in your body.

Yes, I've heard that too Kris, but it still isn't that great for you. I don't have an answer, except for NOT drinking diet sodas. If someone drinks 3 or 4 diet sodas a day it adds up---maybe not to the "toxic" level, but it's still not good for your body. :(

My dad gets really nasty headaches from aspartame (Nutrasweet), but not from Splenda. We have a friend who has seizures if he has any artificial sweeteners - including Splenda (and MSG, too.) You can get several kinds of diet pops with Splenda now, and we drink them instead of the ones with aspartame.

Does anyone have/use a treadmill at home? I'm seriously considering getting one and really think I would use it daily! I've had this in mind for quite a while now, have researched some brands/prices...but I would love to hear your thoughts. I work from home, homeschool, do grad school classes online, and think it will really benefit.

We've been looking at getting a treadmill also, but haven't yet. People who do, though, stress to spend the extra $$ and make sure it has enough "cushion" or whatever they call it. What they say, basically, is make sure it doesn't kill your knees or you'll end up not using it.

Let me know what you decide!

Just wanted to see how everyone was doing with their diets. I was reading through and it makes me wish I had better self control. It is so hard fixing yummy cheesy kids snacks and not taking a bite. I tried slim fast but I felt like I gained more. I am walking more in the evenings. Spring made me notice all of the yummy christmas desserts on my thighs.
